Fabien Potencier is the main developer of the Symfony framework. In 1998 he established the studio Sensio Labs which deals with web technologies and internet marketing. His first sites Fabien developed on Perl. However, in the course of time he switched to php and in 2004 he started the development of his php-framework Symfony.
According to Fabien, the main aim of Symfony is to accelerate and make the work of web developers easy. The framework is intended for rapid web development and web application development such as phpBB. Symfony uses the MVC architecture. The configurations in Symfony can be done using YAML, XML or the simple php-format.
Symfony takes the security matters from XSS, CSRF and SQL vulnerabilities for itself, at this relieving web developers from the necessity of routine actions on handling incoming data, which increases the reliability of the project created.
